VKVTC was started in 1997 at Seijosa to train women to become economically self reliant.
The six months course consists of training in carpet weaving, tailoring, etc. In addition,
primary reading and writing skills, cooking, health and hygiene, story telling, patriotic
songs etc are also taught. The selection of trainees is through Arun Jyoti centres. VKVTC
has quickly carved a niche for itself in the carpet making sector with a total sale of
Rs. 35,060/- in 1999-2000. The trainers are experienced Karyakarta from the first batch.
In collaboration with DRDA Seppa, the proposes to start a carpet production unit in Seppa
Township
