The department of AH and Veterinary has taken up various developmental programmes for economic
upliftment of local people. The department has 7(seven) Nos of Veterinary Dispensaries, 7(seven) Nos.
of Vety. Aid Centres, 12 (twelve) Nos. of Cattle upgrading centres,1 (one) No. of Cattle Breeding
Farm, 1 (one) No. of Chick Rearing Centre and a District Diagnostics Laboratory. The Functions of the
department are to :-

Influence and help the rural poor to take up livestock and poultry rearing in a scientific
way as a means of livelihood.

Upgrading of the indigenous cattle by crossing with hybrids bulls and by castrating the scrub bulls.

Render Vety. Aid to the ailing livestock and to vaccinate the livestock.

Generate self employment among the educated rural youth through scientific method of livestock rearing.
-
Run the Govt. Dairy and Poultry Farm in a scientific profitable manner to make it a model farm.
